Free watch collection spreadsheet template

Here's a free spreadsheet template for tracking a watch collection — no signup, no email, just the file: Download the Excel tracker (recommended), or the plain CSV. It opens in Google Sheets (File → Import), Excel, or Numbers, and comes with three example rows you can delete.
The columns, and why each one earns its place:
Brand / Model / Nickname — nickname matters more than it sounds; half the community knows the AE-1200 only as the "Casio Royale".
Year / Era — exact year if you know it, "80s" if you don't. Our dating guide helps narrow it.
Reference / Module No — the number on the case back. It unlocks manuals and parts later; record it once, thank yourself forever. See the module number guide.
Strap Size (mm) — so you're not measuring lugs in a hurry when a strap dies.
Battery Type / Last Changed / Next Change — the three columns that prevent the dead-watch-in-a-drawer problem. If you only fill one section, fill this one.
Purchase Date / Price / Current Value — for insurance documentation and the occasional honest look at what this hobby costs.
Status — Collection, Wishlist, or Sold. One sheet, whole history.
Story / Notes — where you got it, who it reminds you of. Specs can be looked up later; stories can't.
A few honest tips from running one of these for years: fill the battery date the same day you change it (you will not remember later), keep one row per watch even after selling (the Sold rows become your collecting history), and back the file up somewhere.
And the honest limitation: a spreadsheet records, but it never reminds. It won't tell you a battery is due, photos never sit comfortably in cells, and checking it on your phone at a flea market is misery. That's the point where a dedicated tracker makes sense — we built 2kei for exactly that, with the same fields as this template, battery reminders included, free to start. Until then, this sheet genuinely works. It's what most of us used first.
